Hintonburg Community Association's 25th Anniversary

Saturday, September 24th 2016 | 11am - 2pm, Hintonburg Park

Join us to celebrate the HCA turning 25! Come out for refreshments and fun and meet some old friends!

Members of Street of Rock will be hitting the stage at 11am.

Updates and Start Date

Hintonburg Community Centre is celebrating it's 25 anniversary on Saturday September 24th. We have been asked to perform a few songs at 11am. We'll have songbooks available and will perform:
> Don’t Stop Believing
> Gold on the Ceiling
> We’re not going to take it
> Get Up and Dance
**** If your child can make it, please RSVP and plan to meet at the HCC's lobby for 10:15am. Thanks so much.****

Our start date for this year is Monday October 17th, with both groups meeting at 6pm. We are still chatting about the Junior/Senior split and will have more news about that later this month. We will be meeting in a new room this year, Room 1, lower level. We'll be sure to have someone directing you on the first day.

If your child has some song ideas for the coming year, please let me know!

Of course we are always looking for new members, so please share the news about our start date.

Songs from our recording session at Little Bullhorn

The senior Street of Rock group went into Little Bullhorn Studio at the end of June and recorded 3 songs that they had been working on throughout the past year. They recored Ex's and Oh's, Zombies and a medley/mashup they created out of Demons, Like  a Prayer and With or Without you. The songs sound AMAZING. What a fantastic opportunity to work with Dave at Littlehorn. Enjoy!

Street of Rock; Volunteer choir really rocks.

"The senior SoR choir came up with the idea of staging benefit concerts each spring, and this year they chose to raise money for the OrKidstra program. They raised $420.40 which will be go towards classical music lessons for children living in under-served areas of Ottawa."

Last Friday a few of our choir members met up with Giacomo Panico and put together a short interview about what we do at Street of Rock. Please take a listen and then do come out tomorrow at 2pm at the Carleton Tavern to hear them perform.. $$ donations will be collected for OrKidstra.

Upcoming CONCERT

...The Junior and Senior choirs have been working hard to prepare for this upcoming performance...

 We are really excited to be fundraising for The Leading Note Foundation:

• The Leading Note Foundation administers OrKidstra, a social development program for children aged 5 to 18 living in under-served areas of Ottawa, Canada.
• Our mission is to empower children and build community through the universal language of music.
• We carry out this mission by providing children from low-income families with free group and individual music lessons and the chance to learn important life skills like respect, compassion, teamwork, and responsibility through playing and singing together.
